Iberian Peninsula’s geothermal power can generate current electrical capacity five times over

Basically in Spain and the anywhere inside what is the Iberian Peninsula, there is a temperature increase of 30 degrees celsius for every kilometer you go down. The energy obtained or the "thermal gradient" is generated by the earths own heat and the breakdown of radioactive elements. Implementing EGS in Spain could help cut down on their dependency for energy from other countries and cut down on pollution.Geothermal energy is also clean and renewable.

Human Impact- Good. It will make the cost of energy cheaper for the residents of the area that is given energy by the EGS. Implementing an EGS in Spain will also lead to job creation in the area it is built in.

Environmental Impact- Good and bad. Using geothermal energy produced by the earth itself is a clean and a renewable source. This will cut down on pollution and will also be more effective. The EGS may take up land which could be inhabited by other animals and it could damage the ecosystem in place in a particular area.

Economic Impact- Big negative impact financially for the citizens because putting the EGS in place is not cheap. In the long run it will be beneficial as long as the area does not run out of steam.

Government Legislation- Helps with the clean air act.
